How We Calculate This
The calculator works out how many strips can be cut from the fabric width, then determines how many rows of fabric you need.
The formula
Cut width = Finished width + (Seam allowance × 2)
Strips per fabric width = floor(Fabric width ÷ Cut width)
Fabric rows = ceil(Total strips ÷ Strips per width)
Fabric = Fabric rows × Strip length
